Beauty is a state of non-preoccupation, as Soetsu Yanagi, would say. As a young girl, I always liked to observe; the way things worked, how people moved, reacted to emotions and how things are placed. Intuitively through seeing, you take everything in the whole; your emotion, experience, interaction and involvement with the subject and its surroundings. I always wished there was a way to 'keep' what I see and feel forever. The camera has allowed me to 'keep' the very life of a person, object and place that was taken in the moment in a frame and yet revive that life later in print. Seeing is a way to understand and relate to the people and things around me.

Art is the magic wand that gives undying reality to all things it touches and relates them to the personal being in us – Tagore
