Beauty is a state of non-preoccupation, as Soetsu Yanagi, would say. As a young girl, I always liked to observe; the way things worked, how people moved, reacted to emotions and how things are placed. Intuitively through seeing, you take everything in the whole; your emotion, experience, interaction and involvement with the subject and its surroundings. The camera has allowed me to 'keep' the very life of a person, object and place that was taken in the moment in a frame and yet revive that life later in print. Seeing is a way to understand and relate to the people and things around me.
